Seven at Seven

Sometime this time every year, Student Life Canterbury would have a night out for a few students that had shown immense growth in their spiritual walk. They are the fat and simple ones. Like me. Faithful, Available and Teachable; plus Spirit filled life, initiative evangelism, methods and material, purity in relationships, leadership potential and enthusiasm = Committed Student Leaders!

There are some important things that we do:
1. Encourage each other in our walk with God through our past university year.
2. Cast visions on the scarce time we have left.
3. Challenge to commit and invest our time as a committed student leader.

Then there are some not-so-important things that we do, like:

1. Rejoice!

Photobucket

2. Get all dolled-up.

Photobucket

3. Eat yummy desert and drink awesome coffee.

Photobucket

Photobucket

4. Day dream...

Photobucket

5. Double takes and check out each other's outfit.

Photobucket

6. Have a manly pile-on.

Photobucket

7. Take some proper and decent-looking group photos.

Photobucket

8. Have a random shot photobooth with your bestie.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

9. Ask really random gross-out questions.

Photobucket

10. And, smell each other.

Photobucket

and sometimes...not everyone smells that good. >:(

Photobucket

Personally speaking, I love it! I had such a great time, feeling all encouraged and ready to go. ;)

And since this is a style/life/journal blog. I hope you guys are curious about what I wore:

Photobucket

what I wore: mom's 90's velvet dress, Coach handbag, Clarks Mary Janes, vintage 70's crochet cape from Andrea's vintage sales.

Up the hills

A few weeks ago three university students decided that they should hang out and have some bubble it. It was raining lightly. With sugar pumping in their blood and way too much fun at a conference before that, they made their way up the hills for a spontaneous photo session. Rain + cold +bubble tea = awesome photos and a cold.

Here are some that survived the editing process.

at which Keren thought about life's big questions...

at which Eva did an Asian squart. Not so glam.

at which we saw a serendipity epic shot!

...at which we roam around for more sugary things to keep the high going.

...at which EJ wonders where did Eva come from...????!!!!

At which everyone discovers that Eva survived the train too!!! WOOT! HALLELUJAH!

at which Keren attempted the Jetstar pose...

At which a train was coming and Keren made the dash of her life...and Eva was.... *cough cough* *sobs sobs*

at which we encountered some serious sunburst.

what I wore: Dotti leopard print cardi, Mango T-shirt, Floral Skirt, Dotti Swing Coat, Scarf, Vintage laced-up boots

The Red Trench

It finally arrived today! Yush! Bad timing though, I am totally distracted from my studies.
Yikes. I guess I will have to wait till my effective time then.

Sunny Day

So it didn't work that well yesterday. I guess I have to revert to my old self again. Finish everything that might distract me and study when everything is done. Suicidal genius. In less harsh and more irresponsible way, I am an international student, they are going to have to accept me anyway. Only I'll make sure they accept me because of my results not my fees.

Righto, outfits!

Got this summer dress off Trademe, almost too short so I wore a pair of footless tights underneath. Cardigan - gift from Leanne, Gladiator sandals - Overland, Pumpkin Treasure pendant - Mom (souvenir from Russia)

It's not too short, is it? Yikes-a-bee.

Knitted vest - Supre
I sincerely hope that the sunshine will stay, and I will get to wear everything from that I bought during my shopaholic phase before I head home. :/

The Hanging Bicycles

There are a few odd places in Christchurch. This is one that I truly adore. It's in an alley in the city centre, walls with hanging bicycles.

Brit Freak

I guess not many people know that I am an anglophile. There are just so many reasons this culture appeals to me. Conventional yet unique group of people. Hmm.. Brits. Delighting.

Magnificient

Look, The Brilliant Light!

............................................

Two things that I realize among the darkness that I've been through...

That a light, merely a light will not shine through, only a light too brilliant for the darkness will break through the clouds and make a magnificient mark;

That when it does, shine through, only when it shines through, you will realize it is the Light because of its contrast to the darkness.

............................................

He is the Light; He who is one and different. Holy and ever-loving. That is because He is too bright to be contrasted. So bright that there is no darkness.

-Jesus Christ-

He is the light, because he shines, a gentle light, and always shine. Even when I least expected.

-My father-

He is my light, because he is with me, he tells me his everyday life...share with me bits of his thoughts and his smiles.

-My special friend-

He is a strange light, like one that you might only encounter once or twice in a long time. Not a particular light that is close to heart, but nonetheless a help sent in time.

-The good Samaritan-

Ah, look, what a brilliant light.
